THE RESULT: Long Beach FC earned a convincing 4–0 road victory over Rose City FC at Arcadia City Hall Field, pulling away in the second half to secure a dominant shutout and third straight win.
- Long Beach improved to 3-1-1 (10 points) and moved up to third place in UPSL Premier SoCal North conference
- Rose City fell to 0-2-3 (2 points) and dropped to 11th place
NOTABLE: Mikey McKibbin was outstanding throughout the match, anchoring the back line and assisting on the third goal. Goalkeeper Alan Solorio, who replaced starter Paul Jing at halftime, made several key saves to preserve the combined shutout.
- Solorio was the Legends Sports Bar “Legend of the Match.” Watch his postgame interview here.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Josh Lucas opened the scoring in the 28th minute, finishing a crisp passing combination for his first goal to make it 1–0. Despite controlling 59% of possession in the first half, Long Beach went into halftime with a slim lead in a match that lacked early intensity. Rose City came out strong to start the second half before the momentum shifted following the introduction of substitutes Anthony Cervantes and Jakob Singh.
- Cervantes assisted Lucas Gonzalez in the 56th minute for his team‑leading third goal of the season to double the lead.
- Cervantes then added a goal of his own in the 65th minute, finishing a pass from McKibbin to put the match out of reach.
- Connor Somers capped the night with his second goal of the season, scoring on a breakaway just before the final whistle to seal the 4–0 result.
THE DIFFERENCE: Impact substitutes changed the rhythm of the match, turning control into goals after halftime. Long Beach’s improved tempo and sharp finishing in the second half proved decisive. Impressive goalkeeping in both halves kept Rose City at bay until Long Beach found its groove.
